Matt and Alper usually use a podcast recording service to record the podcast, but they are “between services” right now, being that they have not found one they are happy with. So they are currently using Zoom, the same Zoom you know well and probably use all the time for many of your online meetings. They will send you the Zoom link before the podcast.
Click on that link, and it will take you directly to the correct Zoom room.
Zoom will ask you your name so it can label your window correctly, but you don’t need to upgrade your membership, Matt and Alper have already taken care of that on their own end.
Please wear headphones. They don’t need to be fancy — the earbuds you use with your iPhone should be fine.
Please do it in a quiet place, like your office or your living room. Joining from a coffee shop is a no-no. We don’t want the sound of clanking coffee cups and the conversations of your neighbors to drown out your voice!
The podcast is audio only, so you can wear your pajamas and have messy hair if you want. There is video, but it’s not recorded — it’s just there so we can all see each others’ faces during the conversation.
Matt and Alper have known each other for over 10 years, and they have been recording this podcast for a couple years, so they often record in one take.
But don’t worry, you are not being held to that standard. If you make a mistake, or want to take a moment to think, that’s perfectly fine. Just hold up a finger so Matt and Alper know what’s going on, give us a moment or two of silence so we can find that part easily during editing, and then take all the time you need.
The podcast is typically published a week or two after recording, so don’t expect it to be immediately available to the public.
The podcast is published on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, etc, so it will be very easy to send your friends a link where they can listen to your recording.
Thank you in advance, we very much appreciate you guesting on our podcast!
