Matt and Alper use a podcast recording service to record the podcast, but they are “between services” right now, being that they have not found one they are happy with. So they are currently bouncing back and forth between two services, Zoom and Riverside. They will send you a Zoom or Riverside link before the podcast. That’s where we’ll record.
Click on that link, and it will take you directly to the correct Zoom or Riverside recording room.
Zoom or Riverside will ask you your name so they can label your window correctly, but you don’t need to upgrade your memberships, Matt and Alper have already taken care of that on their own end.
Please wear headphones. They don’t need to be fancy — the earbuds you use with your iPhone should be fine. Wearing headphones helps reduce the audio feedback/echo issue.
Please do it in a quiet place, like your office or your living room. Joining from a coffee shop is a no-no. We don’t want the sound of clanking coffee cups and the conversations of your neighbors to drown out your voice!
The podcast is audio AND VIDEO, so please comb your hair. Interview episodes are usually cut into shorts/clips, and the shorts/clips get posted to LinkedIn, so people are going to see you. You don’t have to look perfect, this isn’t CNN, but at least look reasonably presentable — what you would normally wear for any business-related Zoom call is going to be fine.
Matt and Alper have known each other for over 10 years, and they have been recording this podcast for a couple years, so they often record in one take.
But don’t worry, you are not being held to that standard. If you make a mistake, or want to take a moment to think, that’s perfectly fine. Just hold up a finger so Matt and Alper know what’s going on, give us a moment or two of silence so we can find that part easily during editing, and then take all the time you need.
The podcast is typically published a week or two after recording, so don’t expect it to be immediately available to the public.
The podcast is published on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, etc, so it will be very easy to send your friends a link where they can listen to your recording.
Thank you in advance, we very much appreciate you guesting on our podcast!
